(May 18, 1944 – January 20, 2024)

Linda Wesson Tolson, 79, passed away January 20, 2024 at her home in Morehead City, NC. Born on May 18, 1944, in Wakefield, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late W.T. Wesson and Dorothy Wesson. 

She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Sandra “Sandi” Soles Bridgers, her brother, Scottie Wesson, and her former husband, Richard Boyer.

Linda was a 1962 graduate of Greensville County High School in Emporia, VA. 

While in Emporia, Linda worked for Kingsberry Homes until they closed. 

In 1986, Linda moved to Roanoke Rapids, NC where she was a beloved travel agent for many years. 

Linda loved talking on the phone with her family and friends, cooking her famous recipes everyone asked for, and working in her yard. 

She also loved entertaining on the front lawn of her home on Roanoke Avenue every year for the annual Roanoke Rapids Christmas Parade. 

Linda was a loving, positive influence to all who knew her. She had a big heart and her laughter was contagious. Her biggest joy was being “Nanny” to her three grandchildren.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Tom, of the home; her daughter, Brandi Soles Brown (Buddy) of Roanoke Rapids, NC; her sister, Elsie Wesson Rice (Jimmy) of Emporia, VA; her sister-in-law Sheila Wesson of Franklin, VA; her three grandchildren, Dustin Harrell, Logan Walton, and Alexandra Bridgers Moore; two great-grandchildren; her son-in-law Henry Bridgers; two very special lifelong friends, Brenda Harrell and Gail Beville; and a host of special nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, February 3rd, at  12:00 PM. at Valley Community Church, 1215 Julian R. Allsbrook Hwy. Weldon, NC

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Carteret Hospice, 3722 Bridges Street, Morehead City, NC 28557.
