Ellen Gilliland Handy, 79, passed away on February 6, 2025. 

She is preceded in death by her husband, Edward James Handy, parents, Richard Henry Gilliland and Kati Hurst Bottoms. 

Ellen was raised by her Mama Hurst. 

Ellen is survived by her daughter, Tracie Paul (Chris), son, Kevin Handy, brother, Richard Gilliland (Sandra), sister Teresa Clary (Dan), grandchildren, Austin Paul (Millicent), Hanna Paul (Braxton), Kaitlyn Handy, Madison Davis and Michelle Williams the mother of Kaitlyn and Madison and her adopted family The Mahaffeys/Vaughans, special friend, Domma Mahaffey, and childhood friends, Linda Sue Babb and Jane Brown.

Ellen was a member of Rosemary Baptist Church. She loved Lucille Thomas Sunday school. She enjoyed traveling and was a Dallas Cowboys fan.

A visitation will be held on Monday, February 10, 2025 at Rosemary Baptist Church starting at 1:00pm. A funeral service will immediately follow starting at 2:00pm with Pastor Lane Wallace officiating.
