Mildred Kidd Medlin, 98, passed away on Saturday, June 7, 2025. 

She is preceded in death by her parents, Russell Steve Kidd and Sally Elizabeth Kidd, son, Steve Medlin, sister, Irene “Nene” Campbell, brothers, William Kidd and Richard Kidd. 

Mildred is survived by her children, Shelia Medlin, Sandy Joyner, Sarah Shaw (Walter) and Sam Medlin (Dawn), grandchildren, Michael Allen Bowen (Jeni), Emily Joyner Rook (Justin), Hannah Joyner, Walter Shaw Jr (Tammy), Jonathan Shaw (Robin), Joshua Shaw (Molly), Zach Medlin, Faith Medlin (Ricky Holcomb), Susan Wright (Eddie) and Steve Medlin Jr. (Erica), great grandchildren, Haillei Bowen, Matthew Russell Bowen, Skylar Danielle Bowen, Lelend Ray, Greyson Rook, Brett Shaw (Haley), Lorelai Shaw and Danielle Ann, and her faithful companion Buck. 

Mildred was a country girl raised on a farm. 

She loved making crafts, dancing and country music. She was well known for her cooking and was a wonderful biscuit maker.

 Her favorite country artists were Conway Twitty and Loretta Lynn. Mildred worked at the mill for over 40 years. She had a heart of gold. Mildred loved her children and her grandchildren, she was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 11, 2025 at Wrenn Funeral Home starting at 1:00pm. A funeral service will immediately start at 2:00pm. Interment will follow at Cedarwood Cemetery with Pastor Jim Whitehead officiating.
