Peggy Carroll Peterson

February 1, 1948 – June 25, 2025

Peggy Carroll Peterson, 77, passed away peacefully on June 25, 2025, after a short but courageous battle with stage 4 cancer.

Peggy was preceded in death by her loving parents, Willie and Minnie Carroll; her devoted husband of over 60 years, Isaac “Tootsie” Peterson; and her beloved canine companion, KK.

Peggy’s life was marked by dedication, love, and a generous spirit.

She worked for over 38 years at JP Stevens, where she formed lasting friendships and retired in 2003.

She was a faithful member of her church Good Samaritan Baptist church and deeply cherished her church family, finding strength and joy in her faith and fellowship.

She is survived by her brother, Gene Douglas Carroll; sisters, Janice Moss and Dorothy C. Crawley (Art); and brothers-in-law, Linwood Peterson, Kenneth Peterson (Alice) and Sidney Daniels (Eugie). She also leaves behind her cherished dog, Cassey, a loyal companion in her final years.

Peggy had a special bond with her niece, Betty Brown (Jimmy), and loved George Stegall IV and Courtney S. Moseley (Jeffrey) and Justin Brown as if they were her own grandchildren.

Her pride and joy were her great grandchildren: Braidyn Stegall, and Greyson and Colson Moseley. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly and who brought great happiness to her life.

The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to ECU Health North, Gentiva Hospice, and Louise Flagg for their compassionate care and support during Peggy’s final days.

Peggy will be remembered for her unwavering strength, kind heart, and the deep love she shared with all who knew her. Her legacy of family, faith, and friendship will live on in the many lives she touched.
