James David Allen
December 24, 1946 – January 1, 2026
James David Allen, also affectionately known as David, JD, Bull and Geeda was born in Skippers, VA to Henry Milton and Pauline White Allen.
He was the fourth of ten siblings. He grew up working hard on the farm with his family. He married the love of his life Frances Clements Allen September 25, 1966 and they had two children, Kelly and Dave.
He was a Vietnam Veteran and served in the Army. David worked for Dominion Power for 39 years. He retired as a Local Supervisor for his area. Anyone that knew him, knew to call him first when the lights went out. David was an active member of Conway Baptist Church and proud member of the Brotherhood. He was a faithful Christian man that loved God, and served in many roles in his 40 years at Conway Baptist Church.

David’s favorite pastime was fishing with his buddies, Eddie Joyner and Connie Vann especially for white perch and big mouth bass.
David was preceded in his death by his wife of 51 years, Frances Clements Allen; his parents, Henry Milton and Pauline White Allen; his in-laws, Edward Wilson “Fats” and Frances Gibson Clements; his sister, Clara Allen Ogburn; his brother-in-laws, Ernest Ray Clements and James Roy Jones and his sister-in-law, Joyce Colston Clements.
He is survived by his daughter, Kelly Allen Clark (CJ); his son, James David Allen, Jr. (Ginny); his grandchildren, Aaron Clark (Baylee), Nathan Clark (Ashlee), Alyssa Barnes, Caitlin Allen, Camryn Barnes (Trevor), Cole Allen, Logan Barnes, Maddox Ledgerwood, Maverick Allen and Cash Allen; his great grandchildren, Jaxon Clark, Brayson Clark, Noah Clark and Charlee Clark; his brothers, Donny Allen (Carrie), Bernie Allen (Linda), Steve Allen (Jeanie), Mike Allen (Vickie); his sisters, Brenda Allen Newton, Julie Allen Woodruff (James) and Pamela Allen Lifsey (Scott); his brother in-law, Edward W. “Bubba” Clements and Todd Clements (Cindy); and his sister-in-law, Deborah Clements Jones and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 7, from 5 to 7 pm in the visitation parlor of Wrenn Funeral Home, 1015 West 5th Street, Roanoke Rapids, NC.
Funeral Services will be held at 1 pm on Thursday, January 8, at Conway Baptist Church, 229 N. Church St. Conway, NC 27870. Interment will follow at Cedarwood Cemetery in Roanoke Rapids.
