Annie Pearl Vincent Robinson, 90, of Roanoke Rapids, NC, died Tuesday, February 3, 2026, surrounded by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Born June 4, 1935, and raised in the Vultare community near Gaston, NC, she was the daughter of the late Herbert Lewis Vincent and Mary Etta Gay, and sister to the late Thomas Lewis Vincent.
Valedictorian of her graduating class and student council president at Gaston High School, Annie Pearl not only excelled in academics but also at athletics, specifically basketball.

She married her childhood sweetheart, Earl Flemming Robinson, in 1954 - a union that would span 63 years until Earl’s death in 2017. She missed him immensely, every day, frequently sharing memories of him on Facebook. The family takes great comfort in knowing they are together again.
“Grama” and “Pops” enjoyed spoiling their grandchildren and great-grandchildren, with Annie Pearl never letting a birthday or anniversary pass without sending out thoughtful cards, addressed in her precise penmanship.
Annie Pearl and Earl enjoyed music and dancing, even when mobility became more challenging for the two of them. Some of their most cherished moments came on the dance floor, particularly when they were able to cut a rug at their grandchildren’s weddings.
Early in her career, Annie Pearl worked for The Daily Herald, but it was in her over 40-year role as personnel and customer service manager at Leggett Department Store, which later became Belk, that she made lifelong connections across generations in and around Roanoke Rapids. A “people person,” Annie Pearl loved being out in her community, chauffeuring her friends for meals at Oscar’s and Second Street Lunch.
A longtime member of First United Methodist Church of Roanoke Rapids, she went on to worship at New Hope United Methodist, where she kept a burgundy comforter to ensure she would always be warm in her pew.
Annie Pearl is survived by her children: Sue Robinson Conger (Robert) of Littleton, NC, and David Robinson (Cindy) of Roanoke Rapids; grandchildren Geoffrey A. Hardee (Meg) of Chapin, SC; Cody Conger (Kristie) of Littleton, NC; Lewis Conger (Ashley) of Enfield, NC; Mary Sue Fulk (Jordan) of Greensboro, NC; Christopher Robinson of Gaston, NC, and Jessica Robinson (Andre) of Roanoke Rapids, NC; great-grandchildren, Geoffrey “Alex” Hardee Jr., Hannah Hardee and Adair Hinson, all of Chapin, SC; Aden Rook of Lacrosse, VA; Tessa Robinson-Squire and Payton Robinson-Squire of Roanoke Rapids; Aubrey Conger and Mallory Conger of Littleton, NC; Austin Conger and Walker Conger of Enfield, NC; Bennett Fulk, Elsie Fulk and Baker Fulk, all of Greensboro, NC; many wonderful nieces and nephews, two special sisters-in-law, cousins and countless friends.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by Wrenn Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends starting at noon, Saturday, February 7, with the service following at 2 p.m. The Rev. Sue Owens will officiate.
The family would like to thank the staff and leadership of ECU North for the excellent care she received in the days before her passing.
