It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Glenn N. Woodruff, 90, who went home to be with his Lord on July 21, 2026, surrounded by his family.

Glenn was born on October 19, 1935, to the late Clyde and Lucille Woodruff. 

After completing high school, Glenn honorably served in the United States Army as a Military Policeman where he excelled as a rifle marksman, sharpshooter, and pistol expert. 

Throughout his life, he enjoyed various things including his garden and caring for his vegetables and figs; spending time perusing yard sales, traveling, eating ice cream, and cheering on the Atlanta Braves. Although he had varied interests, above all else, his greatest passion was for the love of his life, Priscilla, to whom he was married for 69 years. 

In addition to his parents, Clyde and Lucille, Glenn is also preceded in death by brother, Thurman Woodruff, Sr.; his identical twin brother, Lenn R. Woodruff, Sr.; Sisters, Sue W. Davis, Medie W. Merritt, and Jean W. Hargrove; nephews, Jimmy R. Davis, Dickie Jordan, Thurman Woodruff, Jr., and niece, Helen M. Draper.

Glenn leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife, Priscilla; sister-in-law, Jean C. Woodruff of Garysburg, NC; Barbara J. Wilcox (Neal) of Taylors, SC; brother-in-law, Edward Jordan (Debbie) of Garysburg, NC; nieces, Sandra D. Tillman of Penn Yan, NY, Patti D. Dickens (Joel) of Roanoke Rapids, Beverly W. Beadles (Dan) of Travelers Rest, SC; nephew, Lenn Reese Woodruff (Terri) of Garysburg, NC; several great nieces and nephews; longtime special friend and coworker, Kevin Vincent; and many friends who became extended family over the years.

The family would like to extend a special heartfelt thank you to Liberty Hospice for their concern, guidance, and care during Glenn’s transition into eternal life.

Funeral Services will be held for Glenn at 2 pm on Saturday, July 25, 2026, at First Baptist Church Roanoke Rapids, 515 Becker Drive, with Pastor Dathan Hall officiating. 

The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time. Interment will follow at Crestview Cemetery with Military Honors.  

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Glenn’s memory to the American Cancer Society or to First Baptists Church of Roanoke Rapids.
