Carey Newsome Barnes, Jr.,  65, of Weldon, NC, died Monday, June 21, 2021 at Vidant North Hospital.

Carey was born in Guatemala, and raised in Venezuela. He lived the last 20 years in Halifax County.

Preceding Carey in death was his Mother, Rebecca Etheridge Barnes. He is survived by his Father, Carey N. “Red” Barnes, Jr. of Weldon, NC; Brother, Claude Etheridge Barnes of Weldon, NC.

A Graveside Service will be held at 10:00 am Thursday, June 24, 2021, at Cedarwood Cemetery, Roanoke Rapids, NC. with Rev. Joe Sandoval officiating.
