Carlson Wray Edwards, 92 of Gaston passed away Saturday, December 31, 2022 in his home. Mr. Edwards was born on September 17, 1930, son of the late Pearl Wray Edwards and Eddie Lee Edwards.
He was also preceded in death by his grandson Wesley Adam Poythress and his siblings: Anne Woodruff, Frances Bowen, Lathan Edwards, and Dennis Edwards.

Mr. Edwards served our country as a member of the United States Army and was a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church. He was also a longtime member of the Gaston Lions Club.
Surviving include his wife of 68 years Frances Jones Edwards, his daughters Carolyn Poythress (Wilber) of Brodnax, VA and Annette Heath (Steve) of Skippers, VA; his son Randy Edwards (Joy) of Henrico, NC; his brother Stuart Edwards (Sherry) of Powhatan, VA; his granddaughters Emily Foster (Kyle) Carly Edwards and fiancé Derek Decker, Shay Edwards, Morgan Worrell (Koy), Hayley Mitchell (Chase), and Crystal Elder (Paul); his great grandchildren Zacherey Elder, Camryn Foster, Levi Worrell and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, January 6th at 2:30 PM in Shiloh United Methodist Church with Pastor Richard Russell officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends beginning at 1:00 PM under the pavilion until the service starts. In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Shiloh UMC Memorial Fund, PO Box 267, Gaston, NC 27832.
