Catherine Marie Lassiter Newsome, 68, passed away on Saturday, January 18, 2024. 

She is preceded in death by her parents, Alfred Hasker Lassiter and Ida Wray Lassiter. Catherine is survived by her brothers, Dennis Lassiter (Deborah) and Ronnie Lassiter (Lucille). 

Catherine worked at Second Street most of her life. She went to Roanoke Rapids High School. Catherine enjoyed going to the beach and loved her favorite group Alabama. 

A graveside service will be held on Monday, January 20, 2025 starting at 2:00pm at Cedarwood Cemetery with Pastor Matthew Reider officiating.
