A Playground for All at Belmont Elementary
We are thrilled to announce that our fully ADA-accessible playground has been installed at Belmont Elementary School!
This new playground ensures that all students, regardless of ability, can play together, fostering unity, joy, and friendship during recess. Watching our students engage with this space reaffirms our commitment to creating an environment where every child feels valued and important. We appreciate everyone who worked to make this project a reality.
KidWind Teams Shine at Regional Competition
Our KidWind teams have once again demonstrated their excellence in renewable energy innovation!
Students from Chaloner Middle School, Roanoke Rapids High School, and Roanoke Rapids Early College competed at the regional competition at Virginia State University.
Both the Middle School and High School solar teams earned first place, and the Chaloner Middle School Wind Team also secured first place honors.
Additionally, our High School Wind Team, which competed with a homemade generator, received the Judge’s Award for their impressive work.
These talented students will advance to the State competition in April!

CTE Excellence: Christina Henderson Named CIMC of the Year
Congratulations to Christina Henderson, who was named the 2024-2025 Career and Technical Education (CTE) Curriculum and Instructional Management Coordinator (CIMC) of the Year for the Northeast Region at the recent NCACTE CIMC Conference!
Mrs. Henderson also presented an engaging session titled "Enrollment Excel Essentials," where she guided coordinators from across the state on how to better organize, analyze, and present enrollment data to improve student outcomes. We are grateful for her leadership and dedication to CTE education!
Guest Services Professional GOLD Certification
A round of applause is deserved for the Hospitality and Tourism Management class at Roanoke Rapids High School, taught by Jill Byrum, for earning their Guest Services Professional GOLD Certification! This achievement recognizes their commitment to excellence in the hospitality industry and reflects the high-quality instruction they receive. Well done!
RRHS Lady Jackets at Brittany Willis Memorial Showcase
Our Lady Jackets soccer team competed in the Brittany Willis Memorial Showcase in Wilson, where 85 teams from across the state participated in this two-day event.
The RRHS team defeated White Oak 5-1 in an impressive victory!
Special congratulations to Kara Baird, who was honored with the Sportsmanship Award for her exemplary character on and off the field.
Linley Godsey Selected for Governor’s School
Congratulations to Linley Godsey, who has been selected to attend the 2025 Session of the North Carolina Governor’s School!
Linley will represent Roanoke Rapids Early College at Governor’s School West at Greensboro College, showcasing her incredible talent in Choral Music – Soprano 2. This is a prestigious honor, and we are proud of Linley’s hard work and dedication to her craft.
Roanoke Rapids Early College Welcomes New Beta Club Inductees
We are proud to announce that 28 outstanding students have been inducted into the Beta Club at Roanoke Rapids Early College. This national organization is dedicated to promoting academic excellence, character, leadership, and service. Congratulations to these students for earning this prestigious recognition!

Chaloner Middle School Quiz Bowl Team Heads to State!
The Chaloner Middle School Quiz Bowl Team showcased their academic excellence at the regional competition at Rocky Mount High School, where they secured second place! Their success has earned them a spot at the state competition. We are incredibly proud of these students and their coaches for their hard work and dedication!
