February was pit bull month on Cesarsway.com to end prejudice through education. Cesar Millan was also honoring the passing of his pit bull Daddy who passed away two years ago February 19th. Daddy changed the perception of pit bulls around the world, and made a lasting impression on me.
Cesar asked his fans to send in inspiring stories of the pit bulls in their communities who are helping transform the image of pits through their actions and character. So I sent him Elle's story. This was the first ever breed of the month for pit bulls and a perfect opportunity to share positive stories in light of the recent negative media portrayal.
As most of you know, Cesar Millan is my idol and this was a huge honor for Elle to be selected as one of the final 20 for the contest. Unfortunately at the end we came so close, but she did not have the most votes by fans. After the contest was over, I noticed on Cesar's website they recognized 3 Pit Bull of the Year Winners — Rilind, Elle and Sara Sox. I am so proud of Elle and for her to be among so many wonderful pit bulls making a difference and bringing awareness for the breed.

Because of the outpouring of support, she was noticed! I realized that Elle sure has made a positive impression on the community. I always knew she was special, but now I know she is loved by many more. Everyone's support was incredible and I am so thankful to have such wonderful friends, and a very supportive community! Some of your comments really hit home and touched my heart. Elle is a true gift and I am lucky to have her in my life and thankful to a wonderful community allowing me to share her with others.
