It wasnt the way the Roanoke Rapids 12U All-stars wanted to finish, but the guys never gave up in the blistering heat Saturday morning.

The 2019 Cal Ripken 12U Major/70 ENC State Champion Roanoke Rapids Yellow Jackets all-stars faced the WNC State Champion Southwest Athletics from Clemmons NC Saturday morning in the semifinals of the Cal Ripken Major/70 Southeast Regional Tournament.

The Roanoke Rapids team never gave up but fell behind early and couldn't come back in a 10-0 loss to the Southeast Athletics.

A double by Avery Garner in the second inning was a positive for Roanoke Rapids but ended with no runs scored.

Collin Ellias led things off on the mound for Roanoke Rapids surrendering ten runs on seven hits over three and a third innings, striking out two.

Garner and Ellias each had a hit for Roanoke Rapids.

The Southwest Athletics ran on the base paths with nine stolen bases.

In the other semifinal game, It was the battle of Florida teams as Florida South State Champions Winter Park battled Florida North State Champions Bill Bond of Pensacola.

Winter Park advanced with a 0-6 win to face the Southwest Athletics in the Championship game.

Winter Park went on to win 3-2 to become the 2019 Southeast Regional Champions and head to to the 2019 Cal Ripken Major 70 World Series in Branson Missouri Aigist 1-10th.
