In a back and forth game, the RRHS baseball team took home the victory, 11-10 in extra innings against Riverside-Martin on Monday night

Jackson Midgette proved to be the final hero of the game as he laced a walk off single to right field in the bottom of the 9th inning to score Jon Lewis Temple.

With two conference games this week, the Yellow Jackets used a whole staff approach to pitching in the game.  Gannon Deberry got the start on the mound.  He was relieved by Wil White, Austin Geary, Jon Lewis Temple, Shep Fowler, and the winning pitcher Drew Wiliams.

RRHS was led on offense by Jon Lewis Temple.  He had 3 hits on the night, including 2 home runs.  His second HR of the night tied the game in the bottom of the 7th inning to send the game into extras.  Also collecting hits for the Yellow Jackets were Andrew Vincent with 3 hits, while Jackson Midgette, Davis Liverman, and Austin Geary with 2 hits each.  Maddox Bullock and Wil White also had one hit apiece.

Coach Mark Snead stated, "This was not our sharpest game defensively.  We gave them a lot of extra outs.  Starting with Gannon and ending with Drew, all of our pitchers did a great job of attacking the zone and keeping us in the ball game.  Our offense finally came around as the game went on and we were able to pull out this exciting victory.  I am really proud of the way our team stuck together through adversity tonight and played as a family."

The Yellow Jackets improve to 6-2 on the season.  They will play at home against Nash Central on Tuesday.  The JV game starts at 4pm with the Varsity game to follow.

Thanks guys and have a great night.
