The Roanoke Rapids High School Varsity Baseball team opened their season with a 10-0 home victory over Granville Central on Monday night
Gannon Deberry started on the mound for the Jackets and pitched 4 shutout innings while striking out 5 batters.  Ayden Brantley pitched one shutout inning striking out 2 batters. 
 
Leading hitters for the Jackets were Brantley with 2 hits, while Collin Elias, Bryce Manning, Wil White, Maddox Bullock, Carson Duncan, and Ryan White collected 1 hit apiece.  
 
The Yellow Jackets will be back at home on Wednesday night at 6pm vs. Martin County.
