The United States Basketball Writers Association has selected senior Kelly Williams (Garysburg, N.C./Halifax Academy) as its National Division III Women's Basketball Player of the Week.

Williams earned the honor after a dominating performance in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference this past weekend.

The North Carolina native helped Randolph-Macon claim its tenth ODAC title this weekend in the ODAC Tournament in Salem. For her efforts, she was named the Tournament's Most Outstanding Player. That followed up a tremendous week for the senior, who was also named the ODAC's Player of the Year, Scholar-Athlete of the Year and All-ODAC First Team.

On the court, Williams collected 63 points and grabbed 39 rebounds across three contests in the ODAC Tournament. Fourth-seeded R-MC defeated fifth-seeded Shenandoah 75-48 in the quarterfinals, ousted top seed Emory & Henry in the semifinals 72-68 and downed seventh-seeded Guilford 68-50 for the ODAC title on Sunday.

Williams also earned three ODAC Player of the Week nods this season to total 17 for her career, which set a new precedent for R-MC Player of the Week honors. Williams was honored four times by the USBWA as a sophomore, setting a new record for most honors in a single season by a single player by the national organization. That record remains in place today. Along with a selection as a freshman, Williams has been honored by the USBWA six times across her career.

The Yellow Jackets will travel to Lexington, Kentucky and Transylvania University for the NCAA Tournament, which begins on Friday. R-MC will face the ninth-ranked and hosting Pioneers for a 6:00 PM contest on Friday evening.
