The #7 seed Roanoke Rapids High School Lady Yellow Jackets beat #10 seed N.C. School of Science & Math Thursday night in the Hive.

NCSSM tipped of to a 0-5 run to take the lead, then the Lady Jackets showed up and went on a 13-0 run to take the lead 13-5 and never looked back. The Lady Jackets headed to the lockeroom at half time with a 32-18 lead.

With a 60-40 win over the NCSSM, the #7 seed Lady Jacket (16-2) advance to the 3rd round of the 2A NCHSAA State Play-offs and will travel to #2 seed Hertford County (23-3) Saturday night. .

Leading scorers for the Lady Jackets were: Ella King with 18 points, Shaniyah Daniels with 16 points, Logan Abrams three 3 pointers contributed to her 11 points, Susanna Odom add seven points, Kylie Wade had four points, while Skyler Wade added three points. Anna King had one point from the foul line to round out the Lady Jackets score,
