Halifax County Motor Speedway kicked off it's 2019 season Saturday with their car show and an open practice.

The Speedway formerly known as Clary's Speedway or Clary's Motor Speedway located in Brinkleyville, North Carolina is open under new ownership/management as the Halifax County Motor Speedway "The Red Clay Bullring".

Halifax County Motor Speedway (HCMS) is a local 3/10 mile dirt track surfaced with red clay in Halifax County. HCMS is excited to start their new beginning under its new management with many improvements that have been done to the track and its facilities during the off season including: New clay added to the track surface, new flag stand installed, bleacher boards have been replaced, grandstand bathrooms have been completely renovated, privacy fence in tech area installed, 200 feet of guardrail and support beams have been replaced, concessions and tower have been repainted, and lighting has been improved in turns 3 and 4. Staff and management of Halifax County Motor Speedway has worked hard during the off season to provide for our great fans and drivers; A great place to race and to bring out your family for a night of entertainment. Concessions in 2019 will be done by Mike Clark.

HCMS will host 7 different classes throughout the 2019 race season  featuring Late Model, Limited Sportsman, Open Wheel Modified, Pure Stock V8, Super Stock 4 Cylinder, Pure Stock 4 Cylinder, and U-Car. Halifax County Motor Speedway will also host the I-95 Late Model Challenge Series 3 times a year. The new owners promoted the track in 2017 in which they ran 15 races that year with a lot of big events such as 3 I-95 Late Model Challenge Series events, the "Monk Memorial" July 4th race, a Pure Stock V8 Special paying $2200.00 to win, Side By Side ATV racing, along with extra purse money events for the Limited Sportsman, U-Car, Super Stock 4, and Pure Stock 4 divisions.

HCMS's first race of 2019 season is set for Saturday April 13th with five divisions of racing.
