Thomas Collects Four Hits as Cornerstone Patriots softball team defeats New Life

Leah Thomas didn't feel much like getting out on Friday, tallying four hits and leading Cornerstone Patriots to a 18-1 win over New Life. Thomas singled in the first, hit a grand slam in the second, singled in the third, and doubled in the fourth.

Cornerstone Patriots got on the board in the first inning when Joanna Duhadaway tripled on a 3-1 count, scoring two runs.

Cornerstone Patriots put up six runs in the fourth inning. Cornerstone Patriots batters contributing to the big inning included Thomas, Anna King, Virginia Saunders, and Alana Patterson, all driving in runs in the inning.

Madison Etheridge earned the win for Cornerstone Patriots. She went five innings, allowing one run on four hits, striking out three and walking one.

Cornerstone Patriots socked two home runs on the day. Thomas went yard in the second inning. Duhadaway had a four bagger in the second inning.

Cornerstone Patriots totaled 19 hits in the game. Duhadaway, Thomas, Ella King, Patterson, Gracie Mason, and King all managed multiple hits for Cornerstone Patriots. Thomas and Duhadaway all had four hits to lead Cornerstone Patriots. Cornerstone Patriots was sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. King had the most chances in the field with nine.
