Roanoke Rapids Yellow Jackets Varsity Victorious Granville Central Thanks to Second Inning Boost

Roanoke Rapids Yellow Jackets Varsity put up seven runs in the second on its way to an 11-1 victory over Granville Central on Wednesday. Roanoke Rapids Yellow Jackets Varsity big bats were led by Karlee Hammack, Kelsey Bierbauer, Abbi Carpenter, and Makayla Pair, all knocking in runs in the inning.

Cassidy Dickens led the Roanoke Rapids Yellow Jackets Varsity to victory in the circle. She allowed five hits and one run over five innings, striking out three and walking zero.

Claire Yancey took the loss for Granville Central. She surrendered four runs on eight hits over two innings, striking out two and walking zero.

Jessica Harder started the game for Granville Central. She lasted two innings, allowing seven hits and seven runs while walking one

Roanoke Rapids Yellow Jackets Varsity hit one home run on the day. Pair went yard in the second inning.

Roanoke Rapids Yellow Jackets Varsity collected 15 hits on the day. Kylie Wade, Lizzy Colston, Meredith Wilson, and Bierbauer each collected multiple hits for Roanoke Rapids Yellow Jackets Varsity. Bierbauer, Wilson, Colston, and Wade each collected two hits to lead Roanoke Rapids Yellow Jackets Varsity. Lily Curtis led Roanoke Rapids Yellow Jackets Varsity with two stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with five stolen bases.

Granville Central tallied five hits. Alexis Whitfield and Gracie Nipper each had multiple hits for Granville Central. Granville Central didn't commit a single error in the field. Whitfield had the most chances in the field with five.
