The Roanoke Rapids High School Lady Yellow Jackets varsity softball team falls to Bunn on Walk-off.

It came down to the last play, but Roanoke Rapids was on the wrong end of a 5-4 defeat to Bunn on Tuesday.

The game was tied at four with Bunn batting in the bottom of the seventh when an error scored one run for Bunn.

Roanoke Rapids got things started in the first inning. Sue Odom's sac fly scored one run for the Yellow Jackets.

Haley Hagwood earned the victory on the rubber for Bunn. The bulldog allowed zero hits and two runs over two innings, striking out one.

Kalissa Williams took the loss for Roanoke Rapids Varsity Yellow Jackets. The pitcher allowed 13 hits and five runs over six and two-thirds innings, striking out four.

Emmily Clark started the game for Bunn. The pitcher lasted five innings, allowing four hits and two runs while striking out three.

Lauren Garner, Odom, Alana Mitchell, and Karlee Hammack each collected one hit to lead Roanoke Rapids Varsity Yellow Jackets.

Roanoke Rapids Yellow Jackets stole nine bases during the game as four players stole more than one. Lily Curtis led the way with three.

Bunn tallied 13 hits on the day. Daisy Beaz, Gracie Hanna, Emma Sanders, Lenita Bryson, and Kori Richter all managed multiple hits for Bunn. Beaz led Bunn with three hits in four at bats.
