Logan Storey threw a gem on Friday for the Roanoke Rapids Lady Yellow Jackets, allowing zero runs and besting Rocky Mount by a score of 26-0.

Alana Mitchell led the Lady Yellow Jackets to victory by driving in six runs. Mitchell went 3-for-4 at the plate. Mitchell drove in runs on a single in the second, a walk in the third, a single in the third, and a triple in the fourth.

Roanoke Rapids fired up the offense in the first inning. Sue Odom grounded out, scoring one run. Roanoke Rapids scored ten runs in the third inning. The rally was led by singles by Alexia Coley, Meredith Wilson, Karlee Hammack, Kaysie Summerlin, and Mitchell, a walk by Mitchell, a triple by Summerlin, and a groundout by Odom. A double by P Evens in the fifth inning was a positive for Rocky Mount.

Storey earned the win for Roanoke Rapids. The hurler allowed one hit and zero runs over five innings, striking out 12 and walking zero.

The Lady Yellow Jackets racked up 20 hits on the day. Lauren Garner, Summerlin, Hammack, Mitchell, Natalie Reda, and Wilson each had multiple hits for Roanoke Rapids. Mitchell, Hammack, Summerlin, and Garner each collected three hits to lead Roanoke Rapids.

Roanoke Rapids stole ten bases during the game as three players stole more than one. Mitchell led the way with three.

Roanoke Rapids was sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Meghan Beam had the most chances in the field with seven.

The Lady Yellow Jackets improved to 7-0 and host the Louisburg Warriors Tuesday night at home with a 7pm game time.
