The Roanoke Rapids Lady Yellow Jackets picked up their first loss of the season Wednesday in the two day game.

Roanoke Rapids traveled to Southern Nash Tuesday night and was down 1-2 before the rains came and the game was postponed until today (Wednesday).

Both teams were strong on the rubber on Tuesday, but Southern Nash was just a little bit stronger at the plate in a victory over Roanoke Rapids Yellow Jackets 3-2. Kalissa Williams started the game for Roanoke Rapids Varsity Yellow Jackets and recorded 18 outs.

Roanoke Rapids Yellow Jackets got things moving in the first inning, when Williams hit a solo homer.

Williams started the game for Roanoke Rapids. The hurler allowed five hits and three runs over six innings, striking out eight and walking one.

Roanoke Rapids Yellow Jackets launched one home run on the day. Williams put one out in the first inning.

Alana Mitchell, Kaysie Summerlin, Alexia Coley, Williams, and Meredith Wilson each collected one hit to lead Yellow Jackets.

the Lady Jackets are 11-1 and host Northern Nash Thursday night at home pending weather does not come into play.
