Not only did the Roanoke Rapids Lady Yellow Jackets get reveng on the Nash Central Bulldogs for last weeks lost, but the Lady Jackets advance to the Big East Confernce Championship set for Thursday.
Roanoke Rapids claims blow-out victory over Nash Central, 8-1
Roanoke Rapids easily did away with Nash Central 8-1 on Tuesday at Home in the second round of the Big East Confetrnce Tournament.
The Yellow Jackets got on the board in the second inning. Sue Odom hit a solo homer. Roanoke Rapids scored four runs in the fourth inning.
The Yellow Jackets's big inning was driven by home runs by Kalissa Williams and Logan Storey.
Williams earned the victory on the rubber for Roanoke Rapids. The pitcher went seven innings, allowing one run on five hits, striking out ten and walking one.
Roanoke Rapids hit three home runs on the day. Storey had a four bagger in the fourth inning. Odom went for the long ball in the second inning. Williams had a dinger in the fourth inning.
Roanoke Rapids tallied 11 hits in the game. Odom, Storey, and Alana Mitchell all had multiple hits for Roanoke Rapids. Odom led the Lady Jackets with three hits in four at bats.
Roanoke Rapids didn't commit a single error in the field. Alexia Coley had the most chances in the field with ten.
#2 seed Roanoke Rapids will travel to Baily Thursday night to face the #1 seed Southern Nash for the Big East Conference Championship, who the Lady Jackets spit in regular season.
