Halifax Academy hosted Roanoke Rapids and Southampton in area softball season opener this past Saturday at Chockeyotte Park.

Halifax Academy varsity team beat Roanoke Rapids JV 12-2 then lost to Roanoke Rapids Varsity 1-8 and closed the day beating Southampton Academy 13-0 and finished with a 2-1 overall record.

After falling to Halifax in game one, Roanoke Rapids JV lost to Southampton and finished with a 0-2 overall record.

Roanoke Rapids Varsity opened the day beating Southampton Academy 13-1 and followed up with a 8-1 win over Halifax Academy and finished with a 2-0 overall record.
