Halifax Academy Lady Vikings earned road win Friday afternoon at Cape Fear Christian.

The Lady Vikings snatched the lead late in their 4-2 victory over Cap Fear Christian Academy Eagles. The game was tied 2-2 in the top of the sixth inning when Scarlett Harris singled, scoring two runs.

The Eagle opened the scoring in the first after Kristina Kennedy doubled scoring one run.

Halifax made the score 4-2 in the top of the sixth after Berkley Garner singled, scoring one run, Miranda Braswell was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, and Harrs singled, scoring 2 runs.

Pitcher Payton Odome earned the win for the Vikings. She gave up three hits and two runs (one earned) over seven innings, striking out two and walking six.

Garner and Maddie Bethel each collected two hits for the Lady Vikings. Harris seized on their opportunities, leading Halifax with two runs batted in.

Halifax turned one double play in the game and improved to a 1-1 overall record.
