The Roanoke Rapids High School Vaesity Lady Yellow Jackets doftball team can't catch up to South Granville Friday night.

The Lady Jackets watched the conference game slip away early and couldn't recover in a 10-0 loss to South Granville on Friday. South Granville scored on a stolen base by Jordan Talley, a single by Bailey Nelson, and a double by Renee Boone in the first inning.

The Roanoke Rapids Yellow Jackets struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing South Granville, giving up ten runs.

South Granville fired up the offense in the first inning. Savannah Thompson drew a walk, scoring one run.

Brooke Bowling was in the pitcher's circle for South Granville. She lasted six innings, allowing zero hits and zero runs while striking out eight and walking one.

Lily Curtis toed the rubber for the Lady Yellow Jackets. She went one-third of an inning, allowing four runs on one hit. Cassidy Dickens threw five and a third innings in relief.

Roanoke Rapids didn't commit a single error in the field. Hannah Taylor had the most chances in the field with six.

South Granville totaled 15 hits. Boone, Ally Goss, Paige Strickland, Nelson, and Jenna Curry all managed multiple hits for South Granville. Boone led South Granville with four hits in four at bats. South Granville was sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Thompson made the most plays with seven.

The Roanoke Rapids Lady Yellow Jackets fall to a 2-4 overall record and a 1-3 conference record.
