Wescott Wescott Halifax County Sheriffs Office

One person wanted in the June 22 murder of Jarshamel Cambridge surrendered today and another is expected to do so, Halifax County Sheriff Wes Tripp said.

Tripp said 26-year-old Kenneth Wescott is waiting to talk to his attorney before giving a statement. He will appear in court Friday to be advised of his rights.

Tripp said Jequan Deont'e Kimble has indicated he will surrender today.

Wescott, of Enfield, was charged with murder and is being held without the opportunity for bond.

The sheriff's office is still looking for Dexter Taylor Jr. and Matthew Simms.

Tripp said Taylor tends to travel between Rocky Mount and Enfield and tips on his whereabouts include him being inside the surrounding area as well as outside.

The same applies to Simms, the sheriff said.

Tripp declined to say where Wescott had been before his surrender today.

Anyone with any information regarding whereabouts of Taylor and Simms is encouraged to contact the sheriff’s office at 252-583-8201 or Crimestoppers 252-583-4444.
