The City County Drug Task Force is looking for a Thelma-area man following the execution of a search warrant Thursday.

Agent D. McKeel said in a statement the afternoon search of a residence on Little Deep Creek Road resulted in the confiscation of four bags of marijuana and several items of paraphernalia, which included plastic baggies, a glass smoking pipe, cigar wraps and steel wool.

Granting of the search warrant was based on citizen complaints and officer investigation, McKeel said.

The task force issued a citation to 19-year-old Phaylen Remelo Pierce for possession of marijuana up to a half-ounce and possession of marijuana paraphernalia.

They continue to look for 51-year-old Andrew Patrick Pierce for the same counts. The elder Pierce is related to the 19-year-old, although the exact relationship was not immediately clear.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is encouraged to call the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office at 252-583-8201 or Crimestoppers at 252-583-4444.

Heroin arrest

Meanwhile, in a matter unrelated to the task force, Detective D.C. Dickens of the sheriff's office reported the arrest of 19-year-old Scotland Neck resident Marquie Mulik Wilson on a charge of sale of heroin.

The arrest occurred on July 15 when Dickens said in a statement he observed the man sell heroin to a third party.

Wilson has an August 19 court date.
