A Littleton area man was arrested Wednesday on charges stemming from break-ins of businesses, according to the Halifax County Sheriff's Office.

Money was stolen in the break-ins of the Littleton businesses on October 8, Detective B.C. Griffin said.

Lequan Richardson, 18, faces two counts of breaking and entering; larceny after breaking and entering; possession of stolen property; two counts of injury to real property and resisting a public officer.

Griffin said the resisting charge reflects he tried to slam the door shut on officers there to arrest him.

The Littleton Police Department, which assisted in his arrest, is also expected to file charges against Richardson, Griffin said.

He received a $20,000 bond and November 18 court date.
