Lorrie Sheetz Williams

Lorrie Christina Sheetz Williams, 42, of Roanoke Rapids, NC, died on Friday, January 22, 2016 at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill.

A native of Dare County, NC, she was the daughter of John Christian Sheetz Sr of Grandy, NC and the late Rebecca Ann Hall Reece.

Lorrie was a paramedic with the Halifax County Emergency Medical Services, as well as a member and Commander of Gaston EMS. Lorrie loved her job as a paramedic and it was a lifelong dream, as it gave her the chance to help others. If you knew Lorrie then you knew she never meet a stranger.

Along with her father and his wife, Angie Sheetz of Grandy, NC, Lorrie is survived by five daughters, Kaitlinn Jones, Brittanie Jones, Shyann Clark, Alexis Williams and Dallas Williams all of Roanoke Rapids, NC; three step-children Hunter, David and Taylor Williams; along with their father, Herbert; two grandchildren, Khloe and Brysonn; a brother, John C. Sheetz, Jr. and wife, Stacey of Kill Devil Hills, NC; a sister, Alicia Fitzgerald and husband, Ray of Carolina Beach, NC; and a step-sister, Holly Smith and husband, Jarrod of Wilson, NC. Lorrie is also survived by niece, Addie; and nephews, Christian, Brian, Mitchell, Corey, Daniel and Nicholas. Along with her mother, Lorrie was preceded in death by her grandparents, Leo and Mary Sheetz.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, January 31, 2016 at New Life Church of Christ, 1718 East 10th Street, Roanoke Rapids, NC. A Celebration of Lorrie’s Life will also be held on the Outer Banks on February 14th at 2:00pm at Kitty Hawk Pier House.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to EMS Angel Lorrie Williams Fund at Southern Bank for her girl’s needs or NC Jaycee Burn Center UNC Medical, PO Box 309, Chapel Hill, NC 27514.
