The City of Roanoke Rapids is now accepting applications for the following positions:

Sanitation Equipment Operator II: An employee in this class operates a Hydraulic Knuckleboom Loader or related sanitation equipment on an assigned route to collect and dispose of refuse from residential and business areas. A valid NC CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) is required.

Police Officer (Roanoke Rapids Police Department): An employee in this class performs a full range of general law enforcement duties to protect life and property in the City. HYDRANT TESTING: The Roanoke Rapids Fire Department will begin testing hydrants Monday, April 3, 2017 through June. This is an important procedure to ensure fire hydrant reliability.
Please check your tap water for discoloration before drinking, bathing or washing clothes. If your water is discolored, turn the cold water tap on until the water runs clear. We hope to finish hydrant testing as soon as possible. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
