She was born in Halifax County, daughter of the late Joseph Aycock and Lena Rochelle. She retired after 43 years at Westpoint Stevens.
Mrs. Cox was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph (Jack) Cox, her sisters; Florence Fisher, Helen Williams and Josephine Ricks.
She is survived by her son, Bill Cox of Roanoke Rapids, NC; two daughters, Michelle Hargrave (Randy) of Shawboro, NC and Anne (Tim) Smith of Roanoke Rapids, NC. Grandchildren: Kayla Hargrave (a special caregiver), Nikki Hargrave, Amy Latham, Christopher Latham, Damien Cox and Brent Smith. She had 5 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at Crestview Cemetery with Pastor Jerry Waters officiating.
The family will receive at Wrenn Clarke & Hagan Funeral and Cremation Service, Monday, July 17, 2017 from 7:00 to 8:30 pm.
