Patrols, checkpoints result in arrests, citations

City County Drug Task Force agents have been actively following up on drug complaints throughout the county by conducting saturated patrols and traffic checking stations.

On Wednesday and Thursday agents encountered the following:

Princess Anthony, 34, of Scotland Neck, was in possession of marijuana.  

Anthony was cited by Agent D.R. Radford with a North Carolina Uniform Citation for possession of marijuana up to one-half ounce and driving while license revoked.

 

Joshua Hilliard, 27, of White Oak Road, Enfield, was arrested at the One Stop Food Mart in Ringwood after he ran from agents while throwing marijuana.  

With the assistance from Radford and his dog, Tony, 11.2 grams of marijuana was recovered.  

Agent D.W. McKeel charged Hilliard with resisting a public officer and possession of marijuana up to one-half ounce.  

He received a $400 bond and October 18 court date.

 

Gerald Monta Lynch, 28, of Highway 48, Enfield, was cited with a North Carolina Uniform Citation by Agent C.A. Parker for no insurance, driving while license revoked and expired registration.

Lynch was the driver of a vehicle which left the One Stop Food Mart when he noticed agents.

A search warrant was applied for and granted for the vehicle. Marijuana was seized.  

Parker obtained warrants for the arrest of Lynch for possession of marijuana up to one-half ounce and maintaining a vehicle and dwelling for a controlled substance.

Agents will continue to follow up on the complaint of drug use and sales at the One Stop Food Mart.

 

TyShawn Tillery, 20, of Third Street, Roanoke Rapids, was arrested by Agent D.J. Epperson and charged with felony possession of cocaine and maintaining a vehicle or dwelling for a controlled substance.  

At a traffic checking station agents could smell the strong odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. During the search cocaine was seized.  

Tillery received a $3,000 bond and October 25 court date.

 

Monique Britt, 39, of Birch Lane, Garysburg, was arrested by McKeel after a traffic stop on Davie Smith Street in Roanoke Rapids.  

Britt had an outstanding Halifax County order for arrest for missing court in March for the charges of larceny of property and possession of stolen goods or property.  

Britt  received a $1,000 bond and September 29 court date.

 

Agents had additional charges of:

5 - Driving while license revoked                           

1 – Resisting a public officer

4 – No operator’s license                                          

2 – Child restraint

2 – Expired inspection                                               

1 – Headlight violation

1 – Marijuana paraphernalia                                   

1 – Fail to carry driver’s license  

1 – Expired registration
