RRPD roundup: Domestic counts; cocaine, child neglect counts

The Roanoke Rapids Police Department reported the following, according to Captain Andy Bryant:

On Friday at approximately 9:52 p.m., Lieutenant P. Parks charged Cashae Briana Thomas, 24, of Rocky Mount, with driving while license revoked.

In addition to this charge, there were three outstanding orders for arrest from Nash and Edgecombe county courts for DWLR charges.

She received a $2,000 secured bond for the local charges and $3,500 for the other charges. The court date is March 12.

Master Officer J. Salmon and Officer M. Worrell assisted.

 

On Saturday at approximately 1 a.m., Officer C. Cross responded to the Old Farm Apartments on a domestic assault call.  

Following an investigation, Cross charged Willey James Phillips Jr., 34, of Roanoke Rapids, with assault on female and possession of marijuana.

He was placed in the Halifax County Jail without opportunity for bond  for domestic violence.  

The court date is February 9.

In addition, Cross charged Quanora Lavette Long, 34, of Seaboard, with assault.  

She was also jailed without opportunity for bond  for domestic violence and received the same court date as Phillips.

Parks, Salmon, and Worrell assisted.

 

On Saturday at approximately 11:56 a.m., Officer E. Ellington responded to the 300 block of Madison Street on a domestic violence call.

Following an investigation, Ellington charged Antonio Johnson, 34, of Roanoke Rapids, with communicating threats and assault on female.  

He was placed in the Halifax County Jail without opportunity for bond  for domestic violence.

The court date is February 13.

Master Officer G. Colson assisted.  

 

On Saturday at approximately 7:54 p.m., Parks charged James Randolph Williams Jr., 27, of Roanoke Rapids, with DWLR, fictitious tags, failure to register a motor vehicle, and an order for arrest for possession of a firearm by felon.

He received a $31,500 bond and March 12 court date.

Officers J. Spragins and J. Shelburne assisted.

 

On Sunday at approximately 1:51 a.m. Sergeant T. Tyler responded to a breaking and entering of a residence in Old Farm Apartments.

Following an investigation, Tyler charged Alvin Norwood Jr., 26, of Roanoke Rapids, with breaking and entering with the intent to terrorize, communicating threats and possession of drug paraphernalia.

He was placed in the Halifax County Jail without opportunity for bond  for domestic violence.

The court date is February 7.

Salmon, Shelburne, and Worrell assisted.

 

On Sunday at approximately 2:20 p.m., Officer H. Grimes responded to Walmart on a larceny call.

Grimes charged Bridget Lee Norton, 35, of Whitakers, with possession of cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia, misdemeanor larceny, possession of stolen goods, and child neglect.

The child neglect charge reflects a minor was in her company or care at the time, Bryant said.

No further details were immediately available.

She was placed in the Halifax County Jail under a $1,000 bond and the court date is February 7.
