The Roanoke Rapids High School Class of 2018 took their traditional walk Wednesday through the halls of their former middle and elementary schools.

The Senior Walk is a tradition started three years ago by RRHS Principal Tammie Williams.

“This is one of the highlights of my year,” Williams said. “It's a little emotional seeing these soon to be graduates get high fives and hugs from former teachers and the younger students who aspire to graduate themselves one day.”

Students at Manning and Belmont elementary schools, and Chaloner Middle held up signs congratulating the seniors and many gave high-fives as the seniors paraded through the halls led by the RRHS Band Drum Corp.

Senior Megan Colston said, “It was so awesome to walk through the halls of the schools we grew up in and see the children so excited.  It made me feel good knowing we could make a difference and hopefully inspire them to stay in school to graduate as well.”
