The Halifax County Sheriff’s Office reported the following, according to Chief Deputy Scott Hall:

On April 28 the sheriff’s office responded to a shooting call at a residence in the Thirteen Bridges Road area of Enfield.

Once on scene deputies discovered multiple shell casings and a bullet hole in the side of a shed.

Through further investigation detective R.B. Biggerstaff obtained warrants on Marquaveon Jadakis Bryant, 17, of Enfield.

Bryant was charged with assault with a deadly weapon and injury to real property.

Bryant was arrested on May 21 and received a $2,500 secured bond.

Bryant has a first appearance set for June 13.

Biggerstaff said the shooting was in retaliation to an earlier altercation which occurred inside the Enfield town limits.

On March 29 the sheriff’s office responded to a larceny at a business located on Bolling Road in Roanoke Rapids.

The business reported clothing as well as a bag of charcoal stolen.

Through further investigation by Biggerstaff, warrants were obtained on Leon Maurice Gray, 42, of Roanoke Rapids.

Gray was charged with habitual larceny and possession of stolen goods.

He was arrested on May 15 and received a $1,000 secured bond.

He is scheduled for a court appearance in July.
