Chief Chuck Hasty said in a statement a vehicle which was traveling in the area of South Rosemary was also struck.
Scottie Plum Jr., 25, of Roanoke Rapids, is wanted for discharging a weapon into an occupied vehicle, injury to property and an outstanding warrant.

His father, 44-year-old Scottie Plum Sr., also of Roanoke Rapids, is wanted for accessory after the fact and conspiracy.
Both men frequent the Roanoke Rapids area.
A third person, James Garrick Roberts, 48, of Roanoke Rapids, was arrested for disorderly conduct as he reportedly interfered with officers while they investigated the crime scene at the intersection of highways 48 and 158. He received a $500 bond and July 9 court date.
Officers responded to the shooting around 8 p.m. and located a person who sustained injuries to the hand and back. The victim refused medical treatment and left the scene.
Investigation also determined a vehicle was struck during the gunfire.
Both men are encouraged to surrender and take of the matter.

Counterfeit money
On Friday, Hasty reported Investigator C. Babb conducted an investigative stop around 11 a.m. at Ninth near Jefferson streets.
Justin Keith Medlin, 25, of Roanoke Rapids, was reportedly found in possession of counterfeit $100 bills, which had apparently been ordered from the internet.
Hasty said the bills, which had Chinese figures on them, appeared to have been washed to remove the certain features from them.
Babb charged Medlin with possession of five or more counterfeit instruments. He received a $1,000 bond and June 6 court date.
