The Halifax County Finance Department today was awarded for the 14th straight year a certificate of achievement for excellence in financial reporting.

The award was presented to Assistant County Manager of Financial Services Linda Taylor by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada.

The certificate is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management, the association said in a news release contained in today's board of commissioners' agenda packet.
