Trooper Scott Richardson said the Highway Patrol responded shortly after 10:15 a.m. and learned that Marshall G. “Mark” Collier Jr., who was driving a client's motorcycle, struck the rear end of a passenger vehicle that was making a lefthand turn into a private driveway.
Richardson said Collier, of Collier's Harley-Davidson was apparently doing work on the bike or testing it when the wreck occurred. He said investigation showed the bike had no mechanical malfunction during the crash.
Collier was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid a collision although investigation showed he did react, leaving skid marks on the highway.
Richardson said Collier was doing well in the aftermath of the crash, which caused the trunk of the Grand Marquis he struck to cave in. “There was nothing broken,” he said of Collier. “He sustained head trauma and a concussion.”
