One surrenders in Bobby's shooting

The first suspect in a Saturday night shooting outside Bobby's Supermarket has turned himself in.

Roanoke Rapids Police said Detective Bobby Martin, assisted by Detective Jeffrey Davis, arrested Charles Lindell Silver Jr. Monday after the 24-year-old Littleton area man made arrangements to turn himself in.

This morning police described Silver as the driver of a car that left the scene around 11:30 p.m. Saturday after multiple shots were fired outside the grocery store on Roanoke Avenue.

Police have not established a motive in the case.

Silver was jailed on $100,000 secured bond and has an October 16 court date.

He faces charges of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury, discharging a weapon into an occupied vehicle and going armed to the terror of the people.

Two other people, Cortez Sesson and Kereon Sykes remain at large and may be in the Highway 48 area of Roanoke Rapids.
