Investigation by the Roanoke Rapids Police Department has determined five people were allegedly involved in a Saturday night shooting outside Bobby's Supermarket on Roanoke Avenue.

Police said two of the suspects, Cortez Sesson and Kereon Sykes, surrendered at the Halifax County Sheriff's Office around 2 this morning. Charles Lindell Silver Jr., who is believed to be the driver of a car that left the scene around 11:30 Friday night, surrendered to Roanoke Rapids police Monday.

Sesson and Sykes were given $50,000 secured bonds.

Davis, left, and Johnson

This morning, Roanoke Rapids police said investigators learned that two more people, Collie Davis Jr. and Trevor Dandrell Johnson were allegedly involved.

Davis and Johnson are wanted for allegedly firing shots into a vehicle occupied by three people as well as the damages the vehicle sustained.

They face three counts each of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill and one count each of damage to property.

Police have yet to discuss a possible motive in the case, which left a victim with a gunshot wound to the leg. Police have declined to say whether the man shot was an intended target and declined to say this morning whether the vehicle that was shot into was an intended target.

“Detective Bobby Martin is working diligently to cover this case thoroughly,” Captain Andy Jackson said. “This crime occurred in public and was a dangerous event to passersby and customers trying to get in the store.”

Anyone with information is encouraged to call the police department at 252-533-2810 or Crimestoppers at 252-563-4444.
