In an email to city Planning and Development Director Kelly Lasky, James Gerhart of the company wrote, “Sheetz has the property under agreement.”
The email, sent to Lasky last Friday, says, “I met with our internal permit manager … and consultant engineer yesterday. We went over all your detailed answers to my previous questions. I'm sure they will have more, but we are off to a good start.”
Gerhart noted in the email the company started due diligence and planned to survey the property this week.
Lasky said the plans call for the Ryan's building to be demolished so the company can begin construction.
Site plans have not been filed with the city yet, she said.
Ryan's closed last year due to underperformance.
