A break-in where alcohol and medicine was taken has led to arrests and a warrant being issued for someone who has moved out of state.

Detective J.M. Clark of the Halifax County Sheriff's Office said the motivation behind the theft of the booze and medication back in May was not clear.

Thompson is believed to be out of state.

He said, however, charges were filed against three 18-year-olds from Roanoke Rapids — Amber Evans, Aaron Riggan and Kayla Thompson.

Riggan

Evans and Riggan surrendered to the sheriff's office while Thompson remains at large. Clark said it is believed she moved out of state with her family to New York, although it is not clear what region of the state she moved to.

Evans

The trio face charges of felony breaking and entering, larceny after breaking and entering and possession of stolen goods.

Liles

Clark also charged Joseph Liles, 42, of Littleton, with filing a false report. Clark would only say the charge reflects a detail picked up through the course of the investigation.

Evans and Riggan were jailed on $2,500 bond and have September 25 court dates.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Thompson is encouraged to call the sheriff's office at 252-583-8201 or Crimestoppers at 252-583-4444.
