Service of an outstanding order for arrest in Enfield today led to the arrest of two people on marijuana and cocaine charges.

Lieutenant Anzell Harris of the Halifax County Sheriff's Office said deputies C. Boden and T. Sewell, along with Enfield police officers D. Hutchinson and D. Cooper, went to Alsop street to serve a warrant on 24-year-old Nakeem Sanders.

The homeowner, 55-year-old Theodore Hendricks, met the officers at the front and Harris said in a statement Boden could allegedly smell marijuana coming from inside.

Hendricks gave consent to enter the house and Sanders was arrested on the warrant.

Boden noticed several baggies and marijuana inside the residence and contacted narcotics Agent D.C. Dickens, who applied for and was granted a search warrant.

Harris said approximately 54 grams of marijuana and 22 grams of crack cocaine was seized, along with several items of paraphernalia.

Dickens charged Hendricks with possession of drug paraphernalia, felony possession of cocaine, felony possession of marijuana and maintaining a dwelling for a controlled substance. He was given a $5,000 secured bond and has a December 4 court date.

Sanders was charged with felony possession of marijuana and felony possession of cocaine, along with the outstanding order for arrest for assault on a female. He received a $10,500 bond and has the same court date as Hendricks.
