Edwards gets Odom superintendent post

Claudette Edwards has been named the new superintendent at Odom Correctional Institution.

The minimum-security state prison facility in Northampton County houses approximately 530 adult male inmates and employs a staff of 170 people.

Edwards is a 21-year corrections veteran who most recently served as assistant superintendent for custody and operations at nearby Tillery Correctional Center.

Her corrections career began in 1992 as a correctional officer at Odom.

She advanced through the ranks at Odom and served as a captain at Caledonia Correctional Institution before being named assistant superintendent at Tillery.

 

 She is a Halifax County native and a graduate of the Correctional Leadership Development Program. She also holds her Advanced Corrections Certificate.
