An ongoing disagreement is apparently the motive in a Weldon shooting death this morning.

Hendricks

Halifax County Wes Tripp said the shooting, in which 20-year-old Sequon Starks later died, occurred around 3:30 this morning.

The sheriff's office responded to a shooting call at 1135 Elm Street and founds Starks had been shot once in the torso with a handgun. He was transported to Halifax Regional Medical Center in Roanoke Rapids where he was pronounced dead.

Further investigation led to warrants being issued for 16-year-old Dashawn Hendricks, who Tripp said has had an ongoing disagreement with the victim. He declined to elaborate.

Hendricks lives in the Weldon area and there was no information on other areas he may frequent.

He is considered armed and dangerous, Anyone with information is encouraged to call Crimestoppers at 252-583-4444 or the sheriff's office at 252-583-1991.
