Weldon police are investigating breaking and entering cases that have occurred since October, one involving the theft of money from an insurance company.

The latest one occurred on January 22 at Diva's Clothing Store, located on 216 Washington Avenue.

Surveillance footage shows two males of undetermined age and race throw what investigators said were a stone and a brick through the store window. They fled when the alarm sounded, never entering the store.

The Diva's suspects from last month.

Captain James Avens said it appears the men in surveillance footage may be the same ones who broke into the store last month, but again stole nothing, the alarm scaring them off.

Damage from both occurrences was estimated to be between $1,000 to $1,200.

In a residential block of Washington Avenue on December 10, private surveillance footage caught a woman who broke into a shed at an undisclosed address after ringing the door bell several times. Nothing was taken.

The final break-in occurred in October around 3 a.m. when a man with a coat in his hand crosses Washington Avenue, changes coats and then forces his way into the L.C. Draper Insurance Agency were an undisclosed amount of cash was stolen.

Anyone with information is encouraged to call the police department at 252-536-3136 or Crimestoppers at 252-583-4444.
