The program will also encourage neighborhood feedback for any law enforcement related issue such as clarification of laws, county ordinances or civil issues.
The E-Sheriff program will also encourage business owners to sign up so that they may have access to information such as recent fraud attempts, forgery trends and theft information. “The business should be able to secure their business from traveling offenders,” Tripp said in a statement. “Citizens would also be referred to Halifax County Crimestoppers in order to report crime tips in an anonymous fashion. We encourage everyone's participation in this program.”
Tripp said the program will allow citizens to know the crimes being committed in their neighborhoods and adds another tool to crime prevention efforts. “We want the citizens to protect themselves from a victim.”
