“There are many needs that this server project will satisfy, and the additional funding you've provided has afforded us the opportunity to meet our goals,” Sheila Love, director of technology for the school system, said in a March 19 letter to County Manager Tony Brown.
Love told commissioners during the meeting the money would be used to replace servers in all 11 county schools, as well as the central office.
School system spokesman Keith Hoggard said one of the biggest needs for the server replacement is that all state testing is going to be online. “The current servers can't handle it. We need better technology.”
The county school board approved the special capital outlay project on March 18.
